About Joshua Mohr
Josh was born in Southern California, but moved to Oregon when he was six years old. After high school Josh worked as a finish carpenter for 4 years before attending both Central Oregon Community College and Linfield College, where he received a bachelors degree in accounting. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA and is a licensed CPA in the state of Oregon.
About Christy Mohr
Christy was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Oregon when she was 20. Christy earned an associates degree in nursing at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, OR, then a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Linfield College. She is now a registered nurse and works in the labor and delivery unit at the hospital in McMinnville Oregon.
Josh & Christy
Josh and Christy met when they were 16 years old and were later married at age 21 and 20. They recently had their first child, Jayden Mohr, in March 2014. Josh and Christy were raised in the church and both of their fathers were Lutheran pastors. After getting married they moved away from their families and started a life together in Bend, OR. While living in Bend, Josh worked as a carpenter alongside a man who pastored a small church with his wife that met in a barn on Friday nights. He invited Josh and Christy to their church and it was at this church that they met Pastor Tucker and Irene in January of 2006. Although grateful for growing up in the church where they were taught about God, Pastor Tucker introduced them to the power of God, and this is when they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and their prayer languages. Pastor Tucker has been discipling Josh and Christy for the past 8+ years and is commissioning them to begin CIS USA in McMinnville, Oregon.
Church Vision
During the summer of 2013, Josh, Christy, and Pastor Tucker took a road trip to Southern California, and during this trip God really pressed it upon their hearts to start a church in Oregon. Josh and Christy have been prophesied over with a calling to be repairers of the breach as stated in Isaiah 58:12 “And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in” ESV. From this, they have been called to restore relationships and bring healing to a hurting generation.
Throughout the years they have been involved in many churches and have seen how money, power, and religion have blinded many people in the church. This has led many churches to fall apart with congregations becoming complacent with lukewarm living. Isaiah 29:13 states “The Lord says: ‘These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught’” NIV. Josh and Christy have a vision to reach the lost and set captives free by exemplifying the power of God to the entire world so that everyone can experience the freedom that God has for them in life beyond the rules of religion. They have a desire to disciple and empower this generation to usher in revival and release people to experience true power and freedom in Christ Jesus.
Josh and Christy envision discipling people in the church to come alongside the ministry and calling for the church, rather than enabling passive church membership. The church is a place for everyone to participate and to work together as one body in Christ to reach the lost. Everyone has unique gifts and callings and their desire is to support and help develop those callings on people’s lives.
Josh and Christy also envision the church embracing an entrepreneur sprit where the church establishes businesses that will generate resources to support the operations of the ministry and create jobs for the people. This will lead to independence and freedom from financial burdens, allowing the church to operate as it was called to do.
