Beginning CSI Lesotho
A member at CSI Kroonstad who is a migrant worker from Lesotho lost his wife to illness early in January 2012. He had come to Kroonstad to seek work, leaving his family back home in Lesotho. In his search for work, he had come into contact with brethren at CSI Kroonstad who preached the gospel to him and he had accepted Jesus Christ as savior and Lord of his life. When his wife passed on, he invited brethren from CSI Kroonstad to minister at his wife’s funeral in Lesotho. The church family (from Kroonstad and Steynsrus) accompanied him to Mafeteng in Lesotho for the funeral. The funeral coincided with Pastor Tucker’s mission trip to South Africa and he joined the brethren there to minister comfort to the bereaved and to mourn with those who mourn.
At the funeral, the brethren shared the gospel with mourners there and 15 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ at the funeral! They ministered to the sick among the new believers and the Lord healed them! The chief of Mafeteng (who represents the King of Lesotho in Mafeteng) was present at the funeral and he together with the residents there requested that a church, CSI Lesotho be planted in Mafeteng. He pledged to provide land for the church. Right now, the Kingdom of Lesotho has allocated 3 acres of land for CSI Lesotho and services are held at a house there every week. Brethren from CSI Kroonstad drive to Lesotho to minister and to build a ministry team for CSI Lesotho.
